Macleod Roofing is proud to be a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant – a national pledge to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
That commitment runs through everything we do: from how we recruit, train, and support veterans and reservists, to how we give back to the wider Armed Forces community across the Highlands.
Whether you’re looking to start a new career, balance service with civilian work, or need a helping hand at home – we’re here for you.
We know the move from military to civilian life comes with big questions – about your skills, your future, and where you’ll feel like you belong. At Macleod Roofing, we don’t just offer jobs. We offer structure, support, and a workplace that values what you bring.
Our Armed Forces-friendly approach includes:
If you’ve served, you already bring the discipline, adaptability, and work ethic we rely on every day. Roofing can be taught. The mindset you bring with you is what matters most.
From the moment you join, you’ll receive proper training, clear expectations, and support from experienced team members who want you to succeed – not just in the first week, but throughout your career.
We won’t pretend to know every challenge you’ve faced, but we do respect your service. That’s why we guarantee interviews, support reservists, and offer a stable environment with a team that has your back.
Whether you’re learning a trade, stepping into leadership, or just looking for a steady, rewarding role, we’ll help you find the path that fits – and grow from there.
There’s no one-size-fits-all path here, but there is always room to move forward.
As well as employment support, each year, Macleod Roofing commits to offering one to two pro bono or discounted roof repairs for veterans or military families in need across the Highlands.
Whether it’s urgent repairs after a storm or a situation where costs are a barrier, we want to help where we can. This support is part of our wider commitment to community care and Forces-friendly values.
Applications are assessed based on urgency, need, and available resources.
Yes. You don’t need trade experience to get started. If you’ve got the mindset, we’ll help you build the skillset through hands-on training and on-the-job support.
Absolutely. We respect your ongoing service and offer flexibility around training, deployment, and other commitments that come with the role.
Not necessarily. A CV is helpful, but it’s not a barrier. Just get in touch, tell us a bit about yourself, and we’ll guide you from there.
Yes. We welcome applications from across the UK. If you’re open to relocating, we’ll support that conversation and do what we can to help you make the move. Many of our team have relocated for the right opportunity.
Most of our roles are full-time with Monday to Friday hours. Work is based in the Highlands, and we aim to keep teams local where possible. You’ll have a predictable routine, with early starts and early finishes common across the industry.
The majority of our work is local to Inverness and the Highlands, so overnight stays are rare. If travel is required, it’s agreed in advance and supported as part of the job.
Roofing is a physically demanding job, but we do have a range of roles including support, admin, and estimating that may be suitable depending on your circumstances. Get in touch and we can talk through the options.
Yes. We encourage development across a variety of roles from on-site to office-based positions. If you’re interested in learning new areas of the business, we’ll support that progression.
Yes. You don’t need to have left recently, in fact, if you’ve served and are now looking for something new, we’d be happy to hear from you.
For over 30 years, Macleod Roofing has provided award-winning roofing services in Inverness, Skye, the Highlands and across Scotland.
